Gulusgammamon is quite the Digimon. Even though he’s technically a “Champion” level Digimon, he demonstrated that’s he more powerful than a standard Ultimate level Digimon like Arukenimon.

None of Gammamon’s other champion forms have actually “defeated” an Ultimate Level. They may have “repel” them, but never actually “kill/beaten” one.

If it wasn't for his dark personality, I bet he'd make a heck of an addition to the evolution arsenal. Since he has a dark form, I wonder if he has a light version.

Sometime he like a fusion of all three Gammamon. Gulus can fly like Blue, He has Destructive weapon like Green, and Fast like Red.

The more likely truth is that Gulusgammamon is actually the "main" form of Gammamon from an evolutionary standpoint and the others are diluted variations that came about somehow from Hiro's father tinkering with the Digivices, possibly as some kind of method to "seal" away Gammamon's main evolutionary line.

Yeah Gulus is an extremely strong champion. Granted, Arukenimon got surprised, the fact that he one-shot an ultimate is very impressive.

best example lucemon its a rookie lvl but can beat mega lvl royal knights digimon

It’s why I said “standard” Ultimate level Digimon. I know Digimon’s stage levels don’t always match the actual power levels of certain others. Arukadimon and Gizmom are examples. There is also the Tamers series.

Lucemon is a good example, he's a rookie/child level Digimon that can defeat Mega/Ultimate level Digimon.

I see someone else already mentioned Lucemon so how about the other angel and demon Digimon. Angemon in both the original and 2020 Reboot is shown to be stronger than the average Champion/Adult Digimon as he was capable of holding back the Mega Level VenomMyotismon along Angewomon. He also oneshot Devimon for a mutual kill. Keep in mind the original Devimon was able to contend with all the other Chosen Children Digimon as well as having amped himself with Dark Gears and that they had already been pacifying Ultimates for awhile(Andromon and Monzaemon for example). Thus, even Devimon was punching above his Level. Later when Angemon became HolyAngemon/MagnaAngemon he was capable of easily contending with Piedmon of the Dark Master who easily defeated the other Chosen which included the Mega Levels of WarGreymon as well MetalGarurumon. He would later be the only member of the cast to be able to deal with BlackWargreymon early on so much to the point that BlackWargreymon specifically wanted to fight for the challenge in order to prove himself the strongest if I remember correctly. 2020 also sets DarkKnightmon at the Ultimate Level and Angemon was shown capable of stalemating him in their clash.

Dialing it back to Lucemon for a quick moment. He was sealed by the Legendary 10 in lore of Digimon Frontier at the cost of their lives and each of the 10 were Mega Level Digimon said to actually be stronger than most modern Mega Level Digimon by the lore.

all numemon are weak, platinum numemon is mega lvl and though his def is 999 everything else is garbage.. well in the cyber sleuth games that is, but i imagine its gonna be the same in anime if he ever shows up.

I bet Gammamon could beat an ultimate with a bit of time and effort. Even In-Trainings can be strong as hell. Digimon World Dawn/Dusk's platinum promotion battle proves it.

At first I was a bit confused by how this show seems unable to decide if it wants to be a ghost story-themed kid's show or if it wants to go further into dark and creepy... but couldn't help but notice how every episode steps further into the creepy side, be it via more plain evil digimons to more hard-hitting consequences.

Last episode we finally saw an actual human murder, but that was accidental; this time we saw them hunted, and "saw" them eaten. Even had hiro's eyes glaze over at the realization.

Can't really step it up much further than that without upping the age rating, so I wonder waht we'll be seeing in the future.

We're clearly in something a little closer to Tamers territory overall with this show...it is just taking a lot of time to get us into the real meat of the story.

I completely agree with you, Tamers still holds the mantle of the darkest Digimon show ever, but Ghost Game is at this point at a solid second spot for the darkest Digimon series.

Will it be able to catch up and become an equal or perhaps even surpass Tamers tho? Hm... I honestly don't know yet chief, because Tamers is still really high up... if only Ghost Game wasn't such a massive slow burn.

Tamers clearly did that for kids before me, I only watched Tamers during 2019 or 2020, tho it is my favorite season so far

Actually, we can’t also forget the reoccurring BlackGatomon (Uver). The FIRST Black Digimon to appear who “introduced” Gammamon to Hiro. They maybe connected.

COME ON MAN, WHEN CAN WE START THE ACTUAL PLOT? WE'VE BARELY EVEN GOTTEN A HINT OF IT AND WE'RE ALREADY 21 EPISODES IN!

I like that they're taking this darker, now confirming not just deaths but gruesome deaths too, but the actual plot has been non-existent. If we're still going by normal Digimon series lengths (about 50-70ish episodes) then we're like 1/3 of the way through the series and we haven't even touched a major plotline! I still like this but I'd really appreciate actually having something to be invested in.

I feell the same, by now we should have had some major strings start to pull. This show has some very good themes and elements going for it (horror is well-done, the digimon are actually power level appropriate) but its meandering lack of central conflict is really hurting it.

I was expecting that this episode was going to be a nostalgic fanservice with Archnemon, but... I was not expecting that shit was going to hit the fan really hard! The Archnemon I remember from 02 was literally Jessy from Pokemon but this one... this one was an insane predator and I loved such dark themed episode!

Also, did the plot thickened once again? Not only Gulus showed up again but was that freaking Gargomon/BlackGargomon watching from the shadows?! At this point, I'm starting to believe that the kids are being tested, which might explain why Gulus said that Hiro wasn't ready, man I would love to have more episodes like this one in the future but with more answers!
